Timing Device

A special feature of Go The Tan is the timing device that will be used. It is a French WINDAG radio frequency identification system (RFID).

The new system features a transponder built into the event number which is activated when the participants cross the start line and again at the finish line.

The system can identify hundreds of starters and finishers per minute and also has a back up system. It will produce almost instantaneous results and allow participants to view their result and split time for the 8km event on the day of the event.
There are no deposits required to ensure computer chips are returned after events and there are no briefings required. You simply attach the number to the front of your T-Shirt or singlet as for any normal event.
